Rutgers travels to Morgantown to continue NCAA Tournament push

It’s now win or go home for the Rutgers women’s soccer team — quite literally — as the team heads to Morgantown, West Virginia to take on the second-seeded Mountaineers Friday at 7 p.m. for a second-round matchup in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament.

Rutgers prepares for opening round of NCAA Tournament against La Salle

Almost two weeks since the team was eliminated by No. 10 Penn State (12-4-4,  6-2-3) — the eventual Big Ten Tournament champions — the No. 22 Scarlet  Knights (12-2-5, 6-2-3) will face the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament champions La Salle (17-3-2, 9-0-1) in a rematch of the 2014 NCAA Tournament opening round.

Rutgers defeats Indiana in overtime with LaPlant goal

Sophomore forward Brittany LaPlant did it again as her late game heroics helped lift the Rutgers women’s soccer team over Indiana 1-0 on Saturday night in Bloomington. After netting the game winner against then-No. 12 Ohio State last weekend with her foot, LaPlant did so again six minutes into overtime against the Hoosiers (6-8-4, 2-5-3) this time with her head.

No. 25 Rutgers looks to solidify postseason spot with win over Indiana

With two games left in the regular season, the Rutgers women’s soccer team looks to climb up the Big Ten standings and lock up a postseason spot as it travels to Bloomington, Indiana to take on the Hoosiers on Saturday at Bill Armstrong Stadium. After a week on the outside looking in for the first time this season, the No. 25 Scarlet Knights (10-2-4, 4-2-3) snuck back into the Division I top-25 rankings this week after collecting four points over the weekend with a tie against No. 9 Penn State and a win over No. 19 Ohio State.
